The most horrifying experience I have ever had in travelling around Japan for many years before Covid. I booked a non-smoking room on a non-smoking floor. The room was filled with cigarette smoke. But the worst was yet to come, there was a smell of urine near the bedside table. I didn’t notice it until I lay my head on the pillow closer to the carpet. The point is how can they miss it when they clean the room I wonder. There was no apology from any of the front desk staff in English or Japanese. Never stay in any Tokyu’s hotels ever.
